MHA in Ulster County, Inc. is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Human Services professional with administrative/managerial experience in running programs involving recreation, education, advocacy, social or daily living skills for adults with mental illness or developmental disabilities. The Program Director will maintain and supervise all aspects of the Wellness Services program.                                                                            


The Program Director will be responsible for all aspects of maintaining the programs, which includes:

    • All administrative activities, staff supervision, billing supervision, and fiscal management responsibilities.
    • This program provides psycho-social support groups, blending of skill building groups, community integration, and the RAH program (for OPWDD clients).
    • Develop and coordinate food programs within the Clubhouse structure and psychiatric rehabilitation model (Geriatric Social Clubs, Coping Skills, and RAH programs).
    • Implement a rehabilitative program that includes opportunities for socialization, education, daily living skills, recreation and advocacy activities, as determined by the members being served.
    • Oversee and coordinate activities and groups typically focus on developing or enhancing everyday living skills, leisure skills, vocational skills, independence, or self expression through art or creative endeavors.          
    • Assist members in planning program activities and provide support to them individually or in groups. Assist program participants with meeting personal goals and obtaining skills to meet goals.        
    • The Compeer Program recruits, screens, trains and matches to work one-on-one with people recovering from Mental Illness.                                                                                     
    • Wellness Resources/Information and Referral acts as an advocate and liaison for adults with Mental Health issues to connect with the network of human service providers and related supports within the community.       
    • The ACES Program is to assist and provide individual assistance to all students in the program with admissions and financial aid academic support.         
    • Additional responsibilities include recruiting, reviewing and coordinating the intake process for participants interested in joining programs, develop programs and activities, conduct program evaluations, monitor program progress and doing weekly, monthly and quarterly outcome reports.                   



Required Qualifications Include:

  • Qualifications include Licensure in a Human Services field, such as LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, Nursing, Creative Arts therapy or Rehabilitation Counseling along with 3 years of administrative/managerial experience.
  • Additional qualifications include grant writing experience, program development skills, and ability to network with other area service providers.
  • Experience working within the Mental Health or OPWDD fields is a must and experience with electronic health records is a plus.
  • This position requires a clean and valid NYS driver’s license and 3 years driving experience.
